from their website: "The mission of Sol Food Mobile Farm starts with advocating for local foods and renewable energy sources. To address such large topics we offer both expos and workshops from our retro-fitted school bus classroom. We work with children and young adults from all backgrounds and experience levels to support local agriculture projects of all types. Our workshops and expos cover a variety of topics, including but not limited to: planting from seed, seed saving, basic garden building, permaculture design, sustainable energy systems (WVO, solar, electric, grey water collection) and urban farming on a large scale."
72-passenger International Blue Bird bus runs on waste vegetable oil (WVO) and is complete with a variety of sustainable systems including – solar panels, a living green roof, vermacompost, rain water collection tanks, a mobile greenhouse and a livable interior built with recycled materials. Our bus is a non-conventional classroom that teaches an array of systems and practices.
